Was this a good film?  Sure.  And I think that really sums it up.  This is indie fare of the most standard type.  Well acted and well meaning.  It’s the story of a single undocumented Mexican father and his teenage son who was born in the U.S.  Dad works hard, son takes it for granted.  Then things go bad and the boy learns to appreciate his father.  I give it credit for leaving the ending unsettled, that was a nice choice.  Fifteen years ago, I would have loved it, but now… I’ve just seen so many like it that I won’t remember this movie at all in a couple of years.
