Prognosticators of the world unite!
August 29, 2008 at 9:40 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsAs the guy who dreamed, in living color, that Joe Biden had been picked as Obama’s VP nominee the morning before the (late night) announcement, I have to give a shout out to Dr. Blume. He sent an e-mail around a few weeks ago, with the prediction that Sarah Palin would be Grandpa John’s veep choice. We all dismissed it.
I suspect our reaction was a fair bit milder than that of the GOP bigwigs right now.

Have to say I think this is fascinating. What a bizarre and risky choice. I would really like to know among the clearly more popular and/or well-known and/or more palatable to moderates either turned him down or now feels snubbed: Mittens, Pawlenty, Olympia Snowe, Jodi Rell from Connecticut, Condi, Rob Portman, Thune. This woman has so little experience, almost anyone would have been a better choice. He could have rescued Liddy Dole from her Senate race – at least she has a national profile and has campaigned before. Very interesting.

BTW- Palin’s Wikipedia page has been significantly altered since I last read it a month or so ago. It is now markedly more conservative (particularly in the “social issues” section) and has a more “folksy” description of her early life. Facinating.
